Music & Melody Takes Centerstage in ‘First Note of Love’ Episodes 3 & 4

Will Neil finally get over his trauma to perform in front of people? And will Sea help him? Let’s find out in episodes 3 and 4 of the GagaOOLala Original Taiwanese BL ‘First Note of Love‘.

Episode 3: The Main Vocalist

After following Sea in his part-time job, Neil asked Liang if he could borrow the stage to play, and although he was able to play for a bit, the nerves got the best of him. He ended up saying that he did the soundcheck and followed Sea at the back to talk to him. Sea, then, asked him why did he not end up performing on stage, and Neil made a joke out of it, saying that people need to buy tickets to watch him perform. He also stressed that he is not a has-been unlike what he said at the meeting earlier, and Sea smiled asking if he was the one who was following him all day. Neil refused to admit it but then ended up asking if it was not allowed. Sea went back to work by serving customers while Neil leeched off of Liang by making him cook for him and getting a pint. As the night passed by, Sea got a call from his senior, Ting Fei, asking him again about the performance. Sea insists that he can’t sing, and in his drunken stupor, Liang offers Neil because he can sing.

Sea finds himself asking Neil for a favor to play in the event. The day of the performance comes and Sea is still not sure if Neil will show up at all. He ends up calling him multiple times but to no avail. But then, Neil finally arrives — with his hair finally cut cleanly! Fans began crowding him, shocked that such a big-named celebrity joined the small event. When it was time to perform, Neil and Sea were confident about their performance. However, something triggered Neil to experience a panic attack, leading him to run out backstage. Sea runs after him and coaxes him to breathing exercises to help him deal with it.

Episode 4: Let’s Make Music Together!

But before going back to the present time, we see Xiao Hai (little Sea) being alone, and ignored by his parents even as a young kid. He sits at a park, in front of the river, and is approached by Neil who gives him the time of the day by talking with him and comforting him. Neil plays the guitar for him and finally introduces himself as a member of Magnet. Sea becomes a fan of Magnet and goes to the city to attend Magnet’s concert only to find out that the duo got into an accident.

Back to the present, Neil finally calms down with Sea’s help and the two manage to finish their performance. Liang ended up distracting the crowd while Neil and Sea were managing Neil’s panic attack, and the crowd eventually loved the distraction and the performance.

Neil and Sea ended up walking around the area to talk. Neil admits that he found Sea’s music really good and that it would be nice if they could work together. Neil asked Sea when he started making music, and Sea shyly admits that someone inspired him back in the day, not fully admitting that it was Neil who actually inspired him. Neil, however, admitted that he gets anxious whenever he is up on stage to perform and he can’t even finish a song, but Sea said that he got to finish one song today so that’s already a feat. The two continue to slyly flirt, and Neil gives him his guitar pick necklace as a gift. Sea wears it like a tattoo on his body.

The next day, Neil and Sea are in the company and Reese says that the two of them will be turning into a duo instead. Sea was surprised as he was originally signed on as a songwriter, but Reese (very lightly) gaslighted him to say that he was Neil’s last chance, and of course, Sea eventually agreed.

But things don’t go as smoothly as the two clashes and argue about the type of music they will be playing and doing. They even argued over the smallest things like who will get the type of food that Mei gave and who will get coffee first. Mei has had enough of them and even pointed out MosBank for getting along really well (such a nice welcome of guest stars from Thai actors Mos and Bank!!!)

Will the two get along and eventually make good music? And who is this new stylish person who just arrived from the airport and what will his role be?
