The heartbreaking yet beautiful love story between lonely men starved for affection begins in the live adaptation of ‘Happy of the End’ on September 2!
Ogeretsu Tanaka’s ‘Happy of the End’ follows Chihiro, who wakes up on a pile of garbage with wedding memories still fresh. When Keito appears, Chihiro recalls their wild night together. Despite Chihiro’s homelessness and Keito’s questionable character, there might be a chance for them to find happiness together. The manga is a massive hit that garnered a positive response overseas. Having translated into over eight languages, it continues to attract fans worldwide. Now, ‘Happy of the End’ is finally being adapted into a TV drama!
The eight-episode drama will be led by Sawamura Rei from the group ONE N’ ONLY, who previously starred as Haruna Keita in the BL series ‘Living With Him,’ and Beppu Yurai, known for his role in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. Sawamura Rei will portray Keito, a man with a complicated upbringing, while Beppu Yurai will play Kashiwagi Chihiro, an unfortunate man abandoned by his family, homeless, and penniless. Tomoyuki Furumaya, who previously directed ‘Candy Color Paradox’, will direct episodes 1-5, 7, and 8 of the series, while Takahiro Komura will direct episode 6. Tomiyuki Furumaya will also co-write the script with Miako Tadano, who also worked on ‘What Did You Eat Yesterday? Season2’. Koji Endo, who is working on the music for ‘Cosmetic Playlover’, will also contribute to this series. The drama is set to premiere on September 2 on Fuji TV.
