Another Japanese BL to look forward to before the year ends!

Today (November 20), TV Asahi announced their upcoming BL ‘I Became the Lead Role of a BL Drama’, which is an adaptation based on Suzuri Machi’s manga ‘BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita’ revolving around a popular actor and a former talented child star who both get cast as the leads in a BL drama.

Actors Nichika Akutsu and Abe Aran from the musical band ‘7ORDER’ are reportedly to star as Akafuji Yuuichirou, a handsome actor who is loved by so many fans, and Aoyanagi Hajime, a child actor that Akafuji’s secretly likes, leading to a pure comedic romance between them.

SYNOPSIS: A popular BL manga is going to be adapted into a live-action drama. The double lead roles will be played by Aoyanagi Hajime, a talented actor who used to be a successful child actor but is not so successful anymore, and Akafuji Yuuichirou, a popular and handsome actor. Aoyagi has a hard time with Akafuji, who has an unfriendly attitude, but on the other hand, Akafuji has too much love for Aoyagi. Will the two stars succeed in their BL drama?

‘I Became the Lead Role of a BL Drama’ is set to premiere on December 24 for its “crank-in edition” via TELASA with three episodes. Meanwhile, the “crank-up edition” will be broadcast on January 1st on the local TV station, TV Asahi.
